Swineshead
[From Samuel Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of England 1831.] SWINESHEAD, a parish in the hundred of LEIGHTONSTONE, county ofHUNTINGDON, though locally in the hundred of Stodden, county of Bedford, 3½ miles (S.W. by W.) from Kimbolton, containing 245 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese or Lincoln, rated in the kings books at £12.13.6½., and in the patronage of the Duke of Manchester. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. |
